St. Louis Laser Treatment Options
All Laser treatments require multiple visits to achieve the maximum response. Your results to the laser treatments can also depend on your skin type. You should avoid sun exposure to get the best results from your laser treatments.
Laser Treatments
- MicroLaser Peel – The MicroLaser Peel is a partial to full thickness peel of the epidermis. This is a deeper treatment than tradition microdermabrasion but thinner than full skin resurfacing. Healing for the MicroLaser Peel takes 2-4 days. The end goal is an improvement in your skin texture and tightness.
- ProFractional – ProFractional resurfacing produces microscopic channels in the skin which stimulates new collagen formation. Because the surrounding skin is untreated, healing is faster than treatments that remove the entire surface of the skin. Wrinkles, lines, acne scars and traumatic scars can be treated with the ProFractional Laser.
- SkinTyte – This treatment uses broadband light to heat the collagen within the dermis causing tightening of the skin. This is not a substitute for surgery but can provide improvement in the skin tone with little downtime and no surgery.
- Redness including telangiectasias and rosacea – Spider veins, broken capillaries and other redness on the face can be improved with laser treatments. You may have some redness for a couple of days but it can be covered with makeup.
- Age Spots and solar lentigenes (freckles) – Brown spots in area of the body like the face and back of the hand can be treated with the laser. There may be redness at first and then darkening of the lesion which will flake off after several weeks. Laser treatments are not applicable for a growth within the skin like a nevus (mole) or any lesion suspected of malignancy.
- Hair Reduction – the laser can also target your hair follicles. The heat reduces hair growth. Only hair in the growth phase can be treated with the Laser. Patients with darker hair with paler skin generally respond best to the Laser. When done right, the Laser treatment can provide great Laser Hair Removal results.
- Skin Rejuvenation – Aging changes in the skin are typically a combination of redness, brown spots, textural change, and laxity. Each individual varies in the combination and based on which condition is more prominent. Therefore, rejuvenation is often a combination of treatments for each of the components responsible for your aging changes. Laser treatments can help to relieve some of the conditions associated with the aging process.
- Laser Liposuction – Laser body contouring allows suction assisted lipectomy for an area of localized excess to be done under local anesthesia with clean removal of fat and a potential for tightening of your skin. Laser Liposuction with Sciton TempAssure allows for direct measurement of internal temperature during the procedure. This increases the safety and efficiency of this procedure for the melting of adipose tissue and heating of dermal tissue to promote skin tightening.
